Window tinting for homes & buildings · 3M architectural window film
It’s called window film now. It still fixes the heat.
If you searched for window tinting, you are in the right place. Modern 3M architectural films reject most of the sun’s heat, cut glare, block 99% of UV and add privacy or security — and the ones we recommend for most homes and offices look like clear glass. Epic is the nation’s largest 3M window film dealer, with its own certified crews in Texas and Colorado and nationwide.

Four jobs people mean when they say “window tint.”
Home window tinting
Hot rooms, glare on the TV, fading floors and furniture, privacy on street-facing glass — without dark windows. 3M Prestige and Ceramic are virtually clear; Night Vision for glare; Fasara frost for privacy.
Commercial window tinting
Office buildings, retail, hospitality, healthcare and warehouses: cooling load, tenant comfort, glare on screens, a uniform exterior and a 2–6 year payback documented by a facility energy analysis.
Security window tinting
What people call “security tint” is thick safety and security film anchored to the frame — for break-ins, forced entry at schools and public buildings, blast and windstorm. Clear, or combined with sun control in one film.
Privacy & decorative tinting
Frosted, gradient, patterned and dichroic 3M Fasara films for conference rooms, glass offices, bathrooms, sidelites and storefronts — privacy that keeps the daylight.
Pick a film. Only the glass changes.
Non-metallic, multi-layer optical film: rejects up to 97% of infrared heat with low reflectivity and no signal interference. Five shades.
Drag the handle on the photo to compare.
Rendering is computed from the film’s published optical values applied only to the glass in each photo (clear-glass baseline: 88% VLT, 8% exterior reflectance). Real appearance varies with glass type, sun angle and shade — we put real samples on your real glass before you decide.
Why the shade you were about to buy won’t fix the room.
Blinds, roller shades, cellular shades and curtains hide the window. The heat has already come through the glass; the shade absorbs it inside the room and only protects what it covers while it is closed. Window film rejects the heat at the glass and blocks UV across the whole pane with the view kept — all day, no cords, nothing to close.
Film vs. blinds and shades, side by sideHeat
Up to 97% of infrared heat rejected at the glass (3M Prestige), while a closed shade re-radiates it into the room.
Fading
99%+ of UV blocked across the whole pane, 24 hours a day, versus a curtain that fades first.
Glare & view
Glare cut up to 83–90% (Night Vision) with the view and the daylight kept.
